Inspired By the Dream Art Show

This year we have an exciting new event to kick off the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. On Sunday, January 19, 2014 we will host the first Inspired By the Dream Art Show at Granville High School Commons Area, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. For intermediate school parents: Our 4th grade students have contributed to this art show and will have a piece of individual work on display as part of a whole piece which will represent the concept of celebrating Martin Luther King day as a “day on” rather than a “day off”. Please join us to celebrate this collaborative event.

Feed the Dream Food Drive

In just 15 days we will be celebrating the Martin Luther King Holiday and our community will once again host the annual Feed the Dream Food Drive. This important event supports the Licking County Food Pantry Network.  Any contributions you can make will be especially valuable this year.  The food pantry’s purchasing power has been reduced by 50% since our first food drive two years ago and with the turn of the New Year Food Stamp benefits have been significantly reduced meaning more people will need additional assistance to feed their families this winter.

Be sure to stop by on Monday, January 20th to make a contribution for those in need. Volunteers will be collecting donations from 9 am to 8 pm at the Ross’ Granville Market’s parking lot.

Looking for other ways to help? Sign up for a time slot for your group or business to volunteer to collect food on the 20th.  Your group or business can also start collecting food NOW and donations in anticipation of the event. To sign up for a time slot on the 20th or to learn more about our community’s project please visit

The past few months, the Granville Exempted Village School’s art teachers have been working diligently on thought provoking pieces that reflect and project Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s DREAM. Adults and children alike are sure to be inspired by the one-of-a-kind masterpieces for this special exhibition. Admission for this inaugural event is simply a donation of canned foods or funds that will all benefit the Food Pantry Network of Licking County.
